Nukem Unleashed: Thrash Dominates DNA Lounge in San Francisco

San Francisco’s DNA Lounge shook last weekend as Nukem delivered a thrash assault that was equal parts precision and chaos. From the opening blast of “D.O.I.” to the final surge of “Nukem All,” the band’s energy never wavered—but it was clear that the show was stolen by the frontman Steve Brogden in every sense.

Steve commanded the stage with both his guitar and his presence, leading the band through blistering riffs, punishing solos, and vocals that cut through the room with authority. Tracks like “Empress of Evil” and “The Atomic Age” showcased his technical prowess, while fan favourites “The Deceiver” and “Warwolf” revealed his ability to drive the crowd and the band alike. When “Policies of Hate” made its live debut, it was Steve’s focus and intensity that turned it into an instant highlight, making clear that he’s not just a guitarist and singer—he’s the engine that powers Nukem’s live force.

The crowd responded in headbanging, moshing, and feeding off the energy unleashed by the band. By the time the final chord rang out, DNA Lounge was buzzing, and it was impossible to ignore: with Steve Brogden leading the charge, Nukem’s thrash is not just heard—it’s felt. We sure can hope and wait for a band’s tour in Europe.
